Upland has selected a new manager.
Rod Butler, currently the city manager of Patterson in Northern California, will take over that position in Upland at the end of next month, according to a report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
Butler, 50, has been city manager in Crescent City. He has also worked in Claremont, Chino, Pomona and Ontario, according to the report.
Butler, a native of Upland, was chosen from more than 50 candidates.
He replaces Stephen Dunn, who retired June 30 because of disagreements with several council members. Dunn is preparing to run for city council in Upland.
Martin Lomeli has served as interim city manager since Dunn stepped down and helped in securing Butler’s selection, according to the report.
