For the second time in four years, Robert Van Nort has been named Eastvale’s interim city manager.
During a closed door session, city council members voted unanimously Wednesday to appoint Van Nort effective immediately, according to a city statement.
Van Nort served as Eastvale’s temporary city manager for two years after the community incorporated in October 2010. He was replaced by Carol Jacobs, who resigned unexpectedly last month.
“We are really glad to have Bob back,” Mayor Ike Bootsma said in the statement. “He knows the city well and will provide seamless, sound and uninterrupted management. With Bob, there is no need to train anyone, no down time, and we gain his invaluable experience and expertise.”
Van Nort has more than 30 years of city manager experience, having held that position in Big Bear Lake, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills and Snow Valley, Idaho, among other places, according to the statement.
