On The Move

A former executive with Harrah’s Entertainment in Las Vegas has been named interim publisher and chief executive of the Orange County Register.

Richard Mirman started work Monday, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.

He replaces Aaron Kushner, who will remain principal owner and chief executive of Freedom Communications, the Register’s parent company. Freedom Communications also owns The Press-Enterprise.

Mirman, an investor in Freedom Communications, spent nine years working for Harrah’s Entertainment in various marketing positions. Newsroom, advertising, marketing and circulation executives at both newspapers will report to him, according to the report.
