Rep. Paul Ruiz, D-Palm Desert, has been named to a Congressional subcommittee that deals with Native American Affairs.
Ruiz is the ranking minority party member on the Subcommittee on Indian, Insular and Alaska Native Affairs, which is part of the House Committee on Natural Resources, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
“I am proud to represent 11 tribal nations in California’s 36th District,” Ruiz said in a statement.
