As new studies pile up from all around the world citing the benefits of a hands-on approach to education; the partnership between MSJC and We Care Plumbing, Heating, Air & Solar appears to be a perfect fit. A fit that helps educate today’s students for tomorrow’s in-demand career opportunities. We Care is industry renowned for their continuing education programs for their employees. They even hand out awards and bonuses in their all-company meetings every month to ensure that continued education is rewarded as a part of their company culture.
When we spoke to a We Care representative, they made it clear that with the advances in plumbing, HVAC, and solar technology happening in real-time, the only way to ensure that their staff of over 170 employees can keep up, is by infusing their company culture with continuing education. This continuing education comes in the form of an on-site training center, as well as online courses which are offered by many We Care partners including Lennox.
It is this level of commitment to educating their existing workforce that made the partnership with MSJC such a good fit. MSJC has long been known for providing their students with an innovate learning environment that incorporates classroom knowledge with hands-on experience to prepare students for a career in their chosen fields. These classes include everything from becoming a Casino Dealer to a Voice Over Talent. These types of classes that supplement the general education allow students to explore a higher level of real-world competency in areas that are in need of skilled workers.
The first class that MSJC and We Care will be partnering on will be Residential Plumbing 1. This class will combine classroom learning and hands-on experience made possible by We Care’s on-site training facilities. At the We Care facility in Murrieta, students will be able to interact with parts, components, water heaters, etc. that many students would only be able to interact with via textbook without this partnership. We Care will also be offering up veteran plumbing technicians and master plumbers to answer questions not just about plumbing, but about their experiences in the field. This type of partnership between MSJC and We Care will allow students to get a much better feel for what opportunities and responsibilities are, associated with a variety of career paths and choices.
