Mike Lopez has been named Murietta’s deputy fire chief.
A 26-year public service veteran, Lopez assumed office recently and replaced David Lantzer, who was promoted to fire chief last July, according to a statement.
Lopez has been a chief officer since 2008. He has been a member of the Carlsbad Fire’s leadership team and administrative/support services, emergency medical services, training, and fire prevention, according to the statement.
