Murrieta Mall Lands Pair of Tenants

A sandwich shop and an ice cream parlor have leased space at a Murrieta shopping mall.

Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches has signed a 10-year agreement to occupy 1,325 square feet of space at Murrieta Springs Plaza, a grocery-anchored shopping center at 25296 Madison Ave., according to WestMar Commercial Real Estate in Temecula.

The chain expects to occupy that space next spring, said Scott Forrest, senior vice president with WestMar Commercial.

La Michoacana Ice Cream Shop has signed a seven-year lease to move into 1,450 square feet of space next door to Jimmy John’s.

La Michoacana is also scheduled to move in next spring, said Forest, who helped negotiate both transactions.

Financial terms of the leases were not released, and it’s not known how many people will work at either location. The transactions were announced Thursday.

Murrieta Springs Plaza is next to Interstate 15 at Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Madison Avenue. Its tenants include a Cardenas Market, which is the facility’s anchor, along with a Big 5 Sporting Goods and a Home Depot.

“It’s a very good retail location,” Forest said. “It gets a lot of foot traffic, and about 56,000 [vehicles] pass through that intersection every day.”
