The San Bernardino County Museum is paying tribute to one of the Inland Empire’s most interesting and innovative businesses.
“Mechanized Magic: 40 Years of Garner Holt Productions in San Bernardino County,” opened Sunday and will run through Nov. 25, according to a statement.
Founded by Holt in 1977 when he was 16 years old, Garner Holt Productions in San Bernardino designs and creates animatronics and animatronic figures, most of which are entertainment based. Their work appears in theme parks, restaurants, museums and retail centers all over the world.
The exhibit traces the company’s 40-year history and includes historic items, video clips and a interactive display.
“It’s wonderful to look back on forty years of doing what I love,” Holt said in the statement. “Creating magic for audiences all over the world is a dream come true.”
The San Bernardino County Museum is at 2024 Orange Tree Lane in Redlands next to Interstate 10. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
General admission is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and military, $7 for students and $5 for children ages five to 12. Children under five and museum association members are admitted free, and parking is free.
