NAIOP Inland Empire has been honored for its charity work and community service by that organization’s governing body.
NAIOP Corporate recently presented the local chapter, which raised $31,000 for charities last year, with its 2014 Chapter Merit Award for community service, according to a statement.
The chapter is made up of industrial and office brokers, developers and commercial property owners in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. It donates $5,000 every year to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Riverside.
Also, the chapter’s annual golf tournament raises about $10,000 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, its REXIE awards generates at least $2,500 every year for local Boys & Girls Club chapters and its participation in the Ronald McDonald House 5K Walk for Kids last year raised $11,000, according to the statement.
NAIOP Corporate is based in Herndon, Va. Every year, during its Leadership & Legislative Retreat in Washington, D.C., the organization honors its local chapters for community service, special events, publications, membership drives and education programs.
