The San Bernardino Community College District has named four new managers to its administrative staff.
Alfredo Cruz has been named general manager of KVCR TV-FM, Pierre Galvez is now the district’s chief of police, Jose F. Torres is director of fiscal services and Lawrence Strong is now the district’s director of internal audits, according to a district statement.
“These were highly sought-after positions, and the board of trustees was glad to have the opportunity to place such a qualified candidate in each leadership role, said Board President Donald L. Singer in the statement.
Cruz, of KVCR, has a years of experience in public media, including jobs with National Public Radio and United Nations Radio, according to the statement.
Galvez, the new police chief, began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Most recently he was a lieutenant with the San Bernardino Community College District’s police department, according to the statement.
Torres most recently was Vice President of Financial Services for the San Bernardino County Housing Authority, and Strong worked for Hot Topic Inc., a City of Industry-based retail chain that specializes in music and pop culture-related clothing and accessories, according to the report.
