The Riverside Transit Agency Monday launched RapidLink Gold Line, an express route between UC Riverside and Corona.
RapidLink, which runs on weekdays only, travels Magnolia and Riverside avenues during peak commuting hours, according to a statement on the agency’s website
Buses leave every 15 minutes. They’re expected to run about 30 percent faster than other buses that service the same route.
“It’s a great time to be a bus rider,” agency chairwoman Linda Krupa said in the statement. “Having these new RapidLink buses on the streets gives us a major boost in terms of what we can offer our customers.
“[We] are thrilled to introduce the next generation of [agency] buses to members of the public who are ready to try public transit.”
RapidLink is free this week. After that, cost to ride all be $1.50, the same as other local bus routes operated by the transit agency. All transit agency passes are accepted along with U-Pass, Go-Pass and City Pass passes, according to the statement.
