New homes in Upland

Upland-based homebuilder Frontier Communities has opened Magnolia Heights, a tract of 97 homes in that city.

The community was officially opened May 1 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that was attended by city council members and executives from Frontier Communities, including Jim Previti, the company’s president and chief executive officer, according to a statement.

Homes at Magnolia Heights are two-story structures that range from 1,800 to 2,300 square feet and are priced just below $500,000. They have three to five bedrooms and two-car garages, according to the statement.

Magnolia Heights is at Campus Avenue and Colonies Parkway near the Colonies shopping center immediately south of the Foothill Freeway.

Frontier Communities, which specializes in developing high-quality homes for first-time buyers, is raising its profile in the Inland Empire. It has bought 3,000 lots and plans to open 14 new-home communities, according to the statement.
