Starting today, the Lou Desmond and Company radio program can be heard from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday on KMET-AM.
The program, which will originate from a radio-television studio at Toyota of San Bernardino at the San Bernardino Auto Mall, will feature commentary, guests from the Inland Empire business and political community and live callers.
The show’s focus will be entirely on the Inland Empire, with the callers expected to add to the show’s local emphasis, Desmond said.
“Too much of the news in the Inland Empire comes from outside the Inland Empire,” said Desmond who did a similar business-political program – except for the live callers – on KTIE-AM for four and a half years. “The show will be about giving people who live and work here a place where their voices can be heard.”
Desmond’s show on KTIE ended in January. Since then he has done a podcast with content similar to that program.
This will mark his return to regular radio broadcasting. Lou Desmond and Company will also be available at the station’s website, kmet1490AM.com.
Cliff Cummings, owner of Toyota of San Bernardino and three other dealerships at the auto mall, said he built the studio for commercials and customer promotion spots but is pleased to be sharing the facility with Desmond.
“I think the show could get interesting as we get closer to the election,” Cummings said.
Besides his political-business program, Desmond is also hosting a live two-hour NFL pregame show from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. every Sunday. The SpecuMetrix NFL Pregame Show features NFL news, updates on the Oakland Raiders and news about fantasy football leagues.
Desmond’s guests include Vincent Bonsignore from the Los Angeles Newspaper Group and Jim Alexander from The Press-Enterprise, both of whom cover then NFL.
