Stater Bros. Markets will build a store at the northwest corner of Baseline and Day Creek roads in Rancho Cucamonga.
The 44,000-square-foot full-service supermarket, which is being developed by Upland-based Lewis Retail Centers, will be one of two anchor stores at Day Creek Marketplace, according to a statement released Monday.
About 125 people will work at the new store, which will feature wider aisles, indoor dining and a new decor. No opening date was announced.
This will be Stater Bros.’ third supermarket in Rancho Cucamonga, a community it has been in since 1974. Its other locations, at 8770 Baseline Road and 9750 19th St., are about half as large as the new market will be.
Stater Bros. is the largest private employer in the Inland Empire, with approximately 18,000 employees and 168 supermarkets throughout Southern California. It is also the largest privately owned supermarket chain in Southern California.
