Arrowhead Regional Medical Center nurses protested today outside the San Bernardino County Government Center regarding stalled contract negotiations.
The nurses, all members of the California Nurses Association, maintain that the delay at the Colton hospital is putting patients there in harms way, according to a report in the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin.
Nurses are routinely assigned too many patients, a violation of state law, and county officials have been slow to respond to suggested improvements at the hospital, the report stated.
Arrowhead Regional, which is owned by the county, has one of California’s busiest emergency rooms in the state, with 340 admissions and outpatient visits on an average day, according to the report.
