Passenger traffic at Ontario International Airport was up 5.6 percent in February year-over-year, according to data released Wednesday.
Ontario International served 321,276 passengers during the second month of this year, compared with 304,270 passengers in February 2016, despite February 2016 having an extra day because of leap year, airport officials stated in their monthly passenger traffic report.
Domestic traffic in February totaled 313,789 passengers, an increase of six percent compared with February 2016, when 295,948 travelers from within the United States passed through Ontario International.
International passenger traffic went from 8,322 last year to 7,478, a year-over-year decline of 10.1 percent.
For the first two months of 2017, domestic passenger traffic at Ontario International was up 7.6 percent while international traffic was down 7.9 percent.
Air cargo freight increased 9.1 percent in February year-over-year, with 44,234 tons handled. For January and February, air cargo freight was up 8.8 percent, with 91,050 tons handled, the report stated.
