Omnitrans announces fall schedule

Omnitrans will add four routes and eliminate seven starting Sept. 8, when the transit agency’s fall schedule begins.

Routes that are going away include 5,7, 20, 80, 86, 308/309/310 and 325, according to a statement on the agency’s website.

New routes included:

  • Route 6, which combines parts of the former routes 5 and 7, serving San Bernardino;
  • Route 87, which combines parts of the former routes 80 and 86, serving Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, and Eastvale;
  • Route 305, which combines parts of the former route 5 and OmniGo Route 325 in Grand Terrace;
  • Route 319, which combines the eliminated OmniGo Route 309/310 in Yucaipa.

Also, Omnitrans will introduce OmniRide – the San Bernardino Valley’s first-ever “microtransit” service. OmniRide will provide on-demand service to residents and commuters within Chino and Chino Hills.

Route 81 will serve the Ontario-East Metrolink station, and more buses will be added to Routes 1,3, 4, 14, 61, and 66. Freeway express Route 290 is also returning, with peak service in the early morning and late afternoon, according to the statement.

Omnitrans is they largest public transit agency in San Bernardino County.
