Charlie Dehart has been promoted to division chief for Temecula by CAL FIRE/Riverside County.
Dehart, a former emergency medical technician who began his firefighting career in 1984 as a volunteer with the Riverside County Fire Department, began his new duties Sept. 1, according to a statement posted on Temecula’s website.
“Charlie brings a wealth of experience and leadership that will serve … the City of Temecula well,” CAL FIRE Riverside’s Chief John R. Hawkins said in the statement. “We are very proud to promote him.”
Dehart began his full-time career as a seasonal firefighter with CAL FIRE in 1987. He attended the Crafton Hills College Fire Academy, and has served as a fire investigation and law enforcement instructor for CAL FIRE for 11 years, among numerous other positions, according to the statement.
