Reg Javier has been named San Bernardino County’s deputy executive officer of workforce and economic development, a new position.
Javier, who most recently worked for the San Diego Workforce Partnership, has nearly 20 years experience in workforce and economic development policy and administration, according to a county statement.
The Workforce Development Department provides county businesses with a number of services, including on-the-job training reimbursement programs, tax credits, layoff aversion services and free human resource consulting.
The Economic Development Department helps new and established businesses with site selection, permitting and regulation along with gaining access to market and demographic information.
Javier, whose private sector experience includes working for the Public Consulting Group in Boston, will oversee both departments, according to the statement.
