Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez has been appointed to the Renu Hope Foundation’s board of directors.

Based in Beaumont, the Renu Hope Foundation is a non-profit entity that provides childcare to at-risk, low-income and needy families in Riverside County, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“As a teacher, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation for our children – both at home and in education,” Gutierrez said in the statement. “The Renu Foundation provides an invaluable service to working families in need of a helping hand to lift them up and help them succeed as students, as parents, and as people.”
