Three honors students at Mt. San Jacinto College have been granted scholarships based on research projects they presented at a statewide conference earlier this year.
The trio – Blaine Novak Pilch of Wildomar, Kylie Gardner of Hemet and Maria Jose Lopez of Warner Springs – presented their work at the 15th Annual Honors Transfer Council of California Student Research Conference for California Community Colleges, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
The event was held March 28 at UC Irvine. About 400 community college students from throughout the state attended the conference, which was restricted to research done for honors courses.
Eight other Mt. San Jacinto students did 12-minute verbal presentation on their research, the report stated.
