Steve Quintanilla has been named Moreno Valley’s interim city attorney.
Quintanilla, president of Quintanilla & Associates in Rancho Mirage, was approved by the city council Tuesday, according to a statement posted on the city’s web site.
He replaces attorney Mike Jenkins of Los Angeles, who took over in April when Suzanne Bryant stepped down as city attorney.
The council will begin looking for a permanent city attorney, a process that could take up to six months.
Quintanilla is city attorney and city prosecutor in Rancho Mirage and Desert Hot Springs, and he has held various legal positions in other cities, including Cathedral City, Calabasas, South Pasadena and Chula Vista.
Quintanilla & Associates will maintain office hours at Moreno Valley City Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays, according to the statement.
