Grant Yates, Lake Elsinore’s city manager for nearly three years, will be on the job awhile longer.
The city council recently extended Yates’ contract by four years and raised his base salary by $18,000, to $198,000, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
That salary is in the middle range of what cities the size of Lake Elsinore – it has approximately 58,000 residents – pay a city manager or similar high-level executive, the report stated.
Yates took over as permanent city manager in November 2012, eight months after former City Manager Bob Brady was dismissed from that position.
Before joining Lake Elsinore, Yates worked in Temecula for 21 years, where he served as community relations director, financial services manager and deputy city manager, according to the report.
