A Moreno Valley blogger has won a libel suit against another blogger from that city.
Debra Craig alleged that Gordon Tucker made disparaging comments about her on his Facebook page that were intended to get her fired from her teaching job, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
The comments have since been removed.
Craig won a $5,000 judgment last month in small claims court.
Tucker, whose blog is mvgordie.com, is considering an appeal and does not plan to pay the settlement. He accused Craig of trying to silence him because of their political differences, the report stated.
The popularity of various social media, especially Facebook and Twitter, have led to an increase in libel suits in recent years, the report stated.
