Harold Stryker will serve as an interim member of the Laker Elsinore School District Board.
Stryker, a longtime educator and union leader, was selected by the district’s trustees in a 3-1 vote, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
Stryker replaces Tom Thomas, who died unexpectedly in June.
The 52-year-old Stryker has taught for the past two decades. He works in the Corona-Norco Unified School District and is president of the district’s teachers union, the report stated.
Six people applied to fill the seat, which represents parts of northwest Lake Elsinore, Temescal Valley, Lakeland Village and Cleveland National Forest. Stryker is a resident of Horsethief Canyon.
