On The Move

Moises Lopez has been named Riverside’s Intergovernmental Relations Officer.

Lopez, who has spent 10 years working in the city’s community development office and as a senior management analyst, began his new job last month, according to a city statement.

Lopez, who was appointed by City Manager John A. Russo, will work with county, state and federal officials to make certain Riverside’s legislative agenda is carried out properly.

He will also work with neighboring government agencies to ensure Riverside can respond properly to regional issues, according to the statement.

Russo, who appointed Lopez, has long stressed the need for better communication between Riverside and regional agencies and neighboring cities.

“The issues of concern to the Inland region are getting more complex every year, and the city of Riverside is in a unique position to show leadership,” Russo said in the statement. “Moises Lopez has the depth of knowledge on policy issues and the analytical skills that we need to be a force for progress in the region.”
