Kim Hoeptner has been recognized by the California State Legislature for her work as a music instructor at UC Riverside.
Hoeptner, who has worked at the university’s child development center for nearly 20 years, was recently presented with a resolution honoring her for her longtime community work, according to INSIDEUCR, a publication for the school’s faculty and staff.
A Redlands native, Hoeptner has been involved with the Redlands Community Music Association for more than 35 years and has accompanied the Redlands Bowl Community Sing and Summer Festival for 25 years, according to the report.
Hoeptner uses music as a teaching tool in her work with the child development center. She has taught music both in school and as private instructor and has composed some of her own tunes, the report stated.
