Reza Aslan, a religious scholar and professor of creative writing at UC Riverside, will host a new series on CNN.
“Believer,” the series’ tentative title, is being billed as a “spiritual adventure” series in which Aslan will join a faith-based group and a experience life as a true believer among members of the sect, according to a report in The Press-Enterprise.
The show is scheduled to debut next year. It will depict Aslan living and experiencing different religious traditions and will not involve him talking into the camera, the report stated.
Aslan’s 2013 book “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth” was a best-seller. He has also written several other books on religion.
