Riverside City Councilman Paul Davis recently represented Riverside at the League of California Cities’ first policy committee meetings of 2016.
Davis, who is vice president of the league’s Riverside County Division, has served on the league’s Revenue and Taxation Committee since 2013, according to a city statement.
The Revenue and Taxation Committee is a major part of the league’s policy-making process. It helps the League create policy on financial issues.
“Participating in League committee meetings gives cities a seat at the table when we are discussing positions that will form the basis of the League’s advocacy efforts for the coming year,” Davis said in the statement. “I welcome the opportunity to advocate for crucial issues like local control and protecting city resources that could otherwise be absorbed into the state budget.”
