On The Move

San Bernardino County Chief Executive Officer Greg Devereaux has been elected a fellow at the National Academy of Public Administration.

Devereaux will join a long list of national luminaries who already serve in the academy, including former Secretary of State Colin Powell, former Attorney General Dick Thornnburgh and former Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna Shalala, according to a statement posted on the county’s website.

The academy, which has more than 800 fellows, was chartered by Congress in 1967. It is an independent, non-profit and non-partisan organization that helps local, state and federal government leaders develop stronger and more efficient organizations.

“This is a great honor and a great opportunity for the entire County organization,” Board of Supervisors Chairman James Ramos said in the statement. “Our [chief executive officer] being recognized as one of the country’s top local leaders shows the strength and resilience of San Bernardino County.”
