Ontario International Airport had another solid month in April.
The airport accommodated 537,000 domestic and 36,000 International travelers during the fourth month of the year, annual increases of 8.2 and 5.5 percent, respectively, according to data released this week.
Ontario International has now had annual increases for 38 consecutive months.
During the first four months of this year, Ontario International attracted more than two million passengers, 9.4 percent more than the first four months of 2023. Domestic and international fliers increased by 6.9 percent and 51.9 percent, respectively.
“April was another strong month for passenger growth,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement. “Our airline partners are adding new routes and expanding existing services, all of which bodes well for air travel through the Inland Empire for the remainder of the year.”
Ontario International handled nearly 61,000 tons of cargo in April, a 4.1 percent year-over-year increase. Year-to-date that number was 237,586 tons, an annual decline of 2.3 percent, the authority reported.
