Ontario International Airport has received $4 million from the Federal Aviation Administration that will help pay for runway and taxiway improvements.
That funding is part of $636 million in grants the administration announced it was distributing this month under its 2024 Airport Improvement Program, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
“We are deeply grateful for our partnership with the FAA, along with the support of Congressional leaders in Washington, D.C., for providing the critical funding needed to enhance our runways, taxiways and infrastructure,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement.
“Together, we are committed to creating the safest possible experience for our travelers and air carriers across the United States.”
The improvement program has paid for multiple projects nationwide, including safety improvements and airport development, according to the statement.
