ONT looks toward big holiday traffic count

Ontario International Airport expects to accommodate more than 350,000 travelers during the upcoming travel season, a nearly 22 percent increase from pre-pandemic passenger counts.

Specifically, 354,636 passengers will pass through Ontario International during the 18-day travel period that starts December 19 and lasts through Jan. 5, a 3.2 percent year-over-year increase, according to a statement on the airport’s website.

Airlines are currently offering more than 445,000 seats on flights to and from Ontario International during the 18-day stretch, 2.6 percent more than were offered in 2023. About 80 percent of those seats are expected to be occupied.

Passenger volume is expected to be busiest on Dec. 22 (22,822), Dec. 29 (22,653) and Dec. 19 (22,586), according the statement.
