Ontario International Airport continued its hot streak in June, as 652,729 passengers passed through the turnstiles during that time.
That was a 16.7 percent year-over-year increase, and the 40th consecutive month Ontario International has recorded annual growth, according to a statement on the airport’s website.
“Ontario International Airport continues to prove itself the aviation hub of choice for more Southern California residents and visitors,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, in the statement.
June’s passenger count was the most for any one month since the airport returned to local ownership in November 2016. Ontario International’s all-time record for one month is 693,000 passengers in August 2007.
During the first half of this year, Ontario International drew more than 3.3 million passengers, an 11.1 percent increase compared with the first six months of 2023.
Cargo – freight and mail – totaled 58,481 tons in June, a year-over-year decline of 5.2 percent, according to the statement.
