John Faheem has been promoted to director of food and beverage at the Ontario Convention Center.
Faheem, who took over as the facility’s food and beverage manager in July, will oversee all cuisine at the convention center, all off-site catering and the menu at the Page One Cafe, which is part of the Ovitt Family Library, according to a statement.
“John Faheem brings experience on a national and international level to Ontario Convention Center,” said Michael Krouse, the convention center’s president and chief executive officer, in the statement. “Since hiring him in July he has become a valuable part of the extraordinary experience we enjoy providing for our guests.”
Faheem was born in Cairo, Egypt and began his career when he was 14 years old, working in all departments at the Atlas International Hotel in Ethiopia. He was first inspired to come to the United States in 1969 when he watched the historic Apollo 11 moon landing.
