Ontario Mills shuts down

The top retail destination in the Inland Empire is shutting its doors temporarily due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Ontario Mills closed Wednesday evening and will stay closed until March 29, according to a statement on the mall’s website.

“After extensive discussions with federal, state and local officials and in recognition of the need to address the spread of COVID-19, we will be temporarily closed,” the statement reads.

“The health and safety of our shoppers, retailers and employees are of paramount importance, and we are taking this step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Pharmacies and other retailers selling “essential items” may still be open, along with restaurants and other food establishments that provide take-out and delivery.

Other Inland malls are altering their hours because of the viral outbreak, according to published reports.
