The Summer Series at Ontario Town Square will be back for a third season.
This year’s events – a live concert and farmer’s market on Wednesday evenings and a movie screening on Friday evenings – attracted more than enough people to assure its return in 2017, said Sue Oxarart, communications director for the Ontario Convention Center.
Attendance was 42,000 last year, and was more than 40,000 this year with eight events remaining on the schedule, according to a statement by the convention center, which sponsors the event.
The farmer’s market was new this year, and it ended up adding considerably to attendance on Wednesday nights, Oxarart said.
“I think we’re to a point where people are planing their summers around this, and they’re starting to look forward to it,” Oxarart said of the Summer Series, which includes an arts and crafts fair. “It will definitely be back next year.
This year’s summer series will hold its last concert Aug.10 and its last movie screening Aug. 12. The Ontario Town Square is on Euclid Avenue between B and D streets immediately west of city hall.
