Palm Springs International Airport will upgrade its restaurants and retailers.
The city council recently approved 10-year contracts with Paradies-Lagardere Travel Retail in Atlanta, the airport’s restaurant operator, and Las Vegas-based Marshall Retail Group according to a statement on the city’s website.
Besides renovating the airport’s three restaurants, Paradies will bring in two sit-down establishments – Trio and El Mirasol – and will partner with Palm Springs Farmers Market for gourmet food and snacks.
Marshall Retail Group will renovate all retail locations, bring in six retailers and add duty-free shopping, a first for the airport.
Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology will be added at some retail sites, also a first for Palm Springs International.
The restaurant renovation will be done in two phases. Phase One is scheduled to start in February and be completed by next fall, while phase two will start in May and be finished by the end of 2024.
Work on retail sites will start in July and be finished in October, according to the statement.
