Palm Springs has changed its regulations regarding how late restaurants, bars, and wineries are allowed to stay open.
Those three entities must now close by midnight and remain closed until at least 5 a.m., according to a statement on the city’s website.
That restriction went into effect last week and will remain in place until COVID-19 is under control. Previously, those establishments were required to close at 11 p.m.
“The City of Palm Springs recognizes that during the summer when extreme heat is an issue for everyone, diners may prefer to eat outdoors later than usual,” said City Manager David H. Ready in the statement. “With that in mind, we determined it would be reasonable that these establishments may stay open until midnight.”
The order does not apply to drive-through or pick up restaurants.
