Lauri Aylaian has named Palm Springs’ Director of Community and Economic Development.
Aylaian, who has been Palm Desert’s director of community of development for 15 years, will begin her new position Nov. 2, according to a city statement.
She replaces John Raymond, who stepped down in June.
“Lauri’s expertise in complex redevelopment issues and vast knowledge of Coachella Valley government issues will be an huge asset,” City Manager David H. Ready said in the statement. “In addition, she is a Palm Springs resident who well understands the issues facing our community.”
Before working in Palm Desert, Aylaian spent 11 years in Atlanta working as a project manager for Heery International, an architectural and interior design firm, according to the statement
