Lorna Luft will serve as celebrity grand marshal of the 26th annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade, the city’s premiere holiday event.
A singer, actress and author, Luft is best known for her work in Grease 2 and the television drama Extremities, in which she starred with Farrah Fawcett, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Luft, the daughter of Judy Garland, has written two New York Times bestsellers: Me and My Shadows: A Family Memoir and her most recent, with co- author Jeffrey Vance, A Star is Born: Judy Garland and the Film that Got Away.
This year’s parade is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 1 at Palm Canyon Drive and Ramon Road. NBC Palm Springs will cover the parade live beginning at 6 p.m., according to the statement.
