Palm Springs to begin enforcing leaf blower ban

Starting in April, Palm Springs will begin enforcing an ordinance that bans gasoline-powered leaf blowers in the city.

The restriction, which the city council passed in July 2017, is meant to reduce noise and improve air quality in the city, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Beginning April 1, first-time violators will be find $100, second-time offenders $250 and $500 for a third and all subsequent offenses.

Violations should be reported to the code enforcement hotline at (760) 788-8434 or on the GO Request App, which can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
