Palm Springs to host business fair

Coachella Valley business owners are invited to attend the inaugural Coachella Valley Local Government Vendor Fair, scheduled for April 17 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and will feature representatives from more than 20 cities and public agencies, including Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, Cathedral City, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage and Riverside County, according to a statement on Palm Springs’ website.

The fair will begin with a 45-minute presentation from government officials, followed by the fair, which is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. The fair is designed help with services commonly provided by cities, including general contracting, landscaping, engineering, electrical, plumbing, technology consulting and security.

“For years I have heard from local businesses that they don’t understand how to do business with Palm Springs and other municipalities and agencies,” said Jeffrey Bernstein, Palm Springs mayor and a business owner, in the statement. “Our goal is to give local businesses the chance to learn from city staff about the procurement and contracting process.”

The convention center is located at 277 N. Avenida Caballeros. For more information, and to register for the fair, visit palmspringsca.gov/dobizincv.
