Perris is looking to expand its broadband capabilities.
The city has partnered with Denver-based Magellan Broadband to develop a “cost-effective next generation” of broadband, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Perris officials hope to develop a broadband program that provides fiber-optic connectivity and fiber internet services to commercial and industrial businesses.
“The city of Perris, in partnership with Magellan Advisory, is committed to the fiber master plan, which provides an opportunity to bridge the digital divide for our residents and business,” said Arturo Cervantes, Perris spokesman, in the statement. “This plan will provide a road map for future city-wide internet infrastructure.
Workshops will be held, and an online survey on the city’s website will go live in early September and will be available for about two months, according to the statement.
