Pree named PS city clerk

Palm Springs will soon have a new city clerk.

Brenda Pree, who has been Pittsburgh, Pa.’s city clerk for the past five years, will replace Monique Lomeli, according to a statement released by the city.

Lomeli has been interim city clerk since March.

Before working in Pittsburgh, Pree was a management analyst for the Fairfax County office of elections in Fairfax, Va. from 2016- 2017. She also served as Jackson, Miss. city clerk for five years and spent 12 years as a court clerk.

“Brenda Pree has a wealth of experience as a city Clerk and a strong grasp of the rules and regulations that govern municipalities and the importance of open and transparent government,” said City Manager Justin Clifton in the statement. “Her experience working for a complex municipality such as Pittsburgh will serve her well in Palm Springs.”

Pree’s starting date, and salary, were not disclosed.
