President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are scheduled to arrive in Palm Springs Friday evening.
They’re scheduled to arrive at Palm Springs International Airport around 6 p.m., immediately after visiting the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota, according to multiple reports.
On Saturday, the first couple is scheduled to attend a Democratic Party fundraiser in Irvine, after which the president will deliver the commencement address for UC Irvine. The ceremony will be held at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
This will be the president’s third visit to the Coachella Valley in the past year and the first with his wife. He met there with Chinese President Xi Jinping last June and King Abdullah II of Jordan in February.
The Federal Aviation Administration has issued temporary flight restrictions at Palm Springs International for the weekend, according to the reports.
