Professionals of the Inland Empire makes debut

John Tulac, an international business attorney in Claremont, introduces the podcast series “Professionals of the Inland Empire” (PIE) to Southern California this week. The program features top professionals in various fields within the Inland Empire, showcasing their expertise and how they contribute to the region’s economic development and growth. The phrase “a rising tide raises all boats” comes to mind when exploring this collaborative growth concept. Tulac, a lawyer since 1977, experienced the growth of Orange County in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Orange County’s declaration of independence from Los Angeles County led to a focus on local talent. Tulac was involved in setting up a satellite office in Newport Beach for his firm and later started his own law firm and has been in Claremont for nearly 30 years. The PIE podcast aims to facilitate growth in the Inland Empire and inform government officials and business owners about the talented professionals right here in the region.

On the PIE podcast this week, Tulac is joined by Lou Desmond of Desmond & Louis PR, and radio host of The Lou Desmond & Company Show on KMET 1490 AM, and Tim Kolacz of Hub International, and host of Soccer in 60, also on KMET. Desmond, who once worked in Orange County but found the people of the Inland Empire more appealing, observed negative perceptions of the Inland Empire among Orange County colleagues but appreciated the down-to-earth and honest nature of people in the IE. Kolacz started in marketing and website development before transitioning to insurance and has been with the Riverside office of Hub International for about 16 years, identifying with the Inland Empire’s work ethic and having a significant client base in the region.

Kolacz and Tulac discuss the good food available in the Inland Empire, and Desmond shares the reason behind creating IE Business Daily, a online publication that focuses on business-related news stories in the IE.

“Soccer in 60”, Kolacz says, covers the Empire Strikers indoor soccer team, and promotes the affordability and excitement of indoor soccer. Desmond goes on to say that a crucial aspect of economic development includes entertainment options and facilities like the Toyota Arena. He and Kolacz stress the importance of Inland Empire government and businesses hiring local professionals to stimulate regional economic growth. The region has world-class educational institutions offering an abundance of local talent.

Desmond shares his experiences with hiring and firing, emphasizing the importance of providing opportunities for young professionals.

Tulac closes out the show highlighting his involvement in Provisors, aiming to feature the 100 plus Provisors members in the Inland Empire on the podcast to showcase their expertise.
