Program assists Riverside County veterans become entrepreneurs

Riverside County veterans who want to start their own business will soon have a place where they can get started, free of charge.

The Veteran Entrepreneurship Program will be available to active-duty members and their direct family members, according to a a statement.

Established by the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship, the School of Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino and the Riverside County Office of Economic Development, the program will teach the skills, knowledge, and mindset need to start a business.

The program’s schedule is:

  • Session I:   Sept. 14th – Engage in activities to prime your entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Session II:  Sept. 28th – Delve deeper into customer interviews and solution ideation.
  • Session III: Oct. 12th – Interpret customer discovery data and develop market hypotheses.
  • Session IV: Nov. 21st – Celebrate at the Spirit of Entrepreneurs Award ceremony.

“Veterans and their families give so much to this country,” said Rob Moran, deputy director of the Riverside County Economic Development Agency. “By supporting programs like this we can give back to our service members and give them the skills to be successful entrepreneurs.”
