Project will Combine Logistics, Manufacturing

An environmental impact report for a proposed warehouse-distribution manufacturing project in Moreno Valley is available to the public.

Indian Street Commerce Center, a 446,350-square-foot structure, will be developed by Sares Regis on 19.6 acres of open space on the west side of Indian Street south of Grove View Road, said Julia Descoteaux, associate planner.

Most of the project – 347,080 square feet – will be devoted to warehouse-distribution. About 89,270 square feet will be used for manufacturing and 10,000 square feet will be set aside for office space.

The project, which is being developed without a signed tenant, is expected to go before the planning commission late this year. It’s being developed near a waste-management facility and the site of a proposed industrial building that will cover approximately 1.4 million square feet.

“Every [business or resident] within 300 feet of the site is being notified, but there aren’t too many of those,” Descoteaux said. “It’s all zoned for industrial. It’s a pretty remote area.”

The public review period for the environmental impact report began Friday and is scheduled to end Oct. 10. During that 45-day period, any public agency or private individual may read and comment on the report.

The document is available at moreno-valley.ca.us. Hard copies can be read at City Hall, 14177 Frederick St., and at Moreno Valley Library, 25480 Alessandro Blvd. during regular business hours.
