Jesse Ramirez has been appointed to the Mojave Water Agency’s Board of Directors.
The Barstow native has worked in the water industry for 44 years, including the last 18 as operations superintendent for San Dimas-based Golden State Water Co., according to a statement on Barstow’s website.
Ramirez will represent Division Six. He replaces Jeanette Hayhurst, who retired from the board earlier this year.
“Jesse brings with him an accomplished career in water utility operations,” said Adnan Anabtawi, the agency’s general manager, in the statement. “He will provide the agency with important perspectives as we tackle the coming water management challenges.”
Ramirez is scheduled to attend his first board meeting on Oct. 26.
